Social Problems among teenagers.Rural and city areas. Are there any differences??

I found this article from The Star on May 2,2010.
This is a research made by National Population and Family Development Board(LPPKN) concerning the activities among teenagers that have been disapproved by parents.
'KUALA LUMPUR: They have become a common sight in the wee hours of the morning – youngsters hanging out with friends in various spots in the city.' -by Hariati Azizan and Wong Pek Mei.

It seems that staying out late at night is the highest activities that has been disapproved by parents yet this is the most thing that teenagers do.In my opinion the article aims at teenagers in city areas because it was reported from Kuala Lumpur. The research made shows that (13.5%) teenagers love to stay out late at night, taking drugs (1.3%), and illegal racing(2.9%).

LPPKN Director-General Datuk Aminah Abdul Rahman said the changes in the lifestyle of teenagers today is because of the increase in eateries, cybercafes, late night activities like midnight movie, night futsal matches, concerts, and football games.

Teenagers in city areas also have social ills. They have all they needs in the city. The most common among them area staying out late and clubbing.Do u agree?

I do.Because maybe they are not strictly restricted from going out late at night by their parents. As we can see parents in developing city like Kuala Lumpur are more open and they are too busy that they don't realize about their children activities. That's my opinion.

Dear soleha, i do agree that teenagers in city areas also have social problems such as clubbing and all. Infact i believe, they contributed majorly in the percentage of social problems in Malaysia. It is possible that most of the parents are suffering from various pressures in life, too busy working and they put money and wealth as their priority. Therefore, the parents and children does not spend time together to talk or discuss with each other. It would appear nowadays that household don't even see each other quiet often eventhough living under one roof. When this happen, teenagers will lead their own way to live without the guidance and monitoring from parents.

Thank you for your support mia.
At this level friends play an important role because with who else do they want to go out and spend their time with other than their friends?

I believe if parents can't spend a time with their child, they have to know at least with whom their child are spending time with.

Usually teenagers that live under this situation excecute this kind of attitude is because they want to have some attention and love from their parents. Not because they want to be like that.
